Premier Inn Gloucester (Quayside)

Room was standard for premier inn but the bar was shocking. Only 1 person working on a Friday night, ran out of beer and closed at 10. Saturday breakfast we had to ask for things to be topped up. There were only 2 staff on and they ran out of cooked breakfast and patisseries. Saturday night there was 1 member of staff working between the hotel and bar and we were told to leave at 10. The hotel was fully booked all weekend and to have 1 member of staff on was very disappointing and a disgrace to the hotel considering the hotel was full.

The price, central Gloucester parking with easy access to Gloucester Quays and a comfortable bed were good. However, the downsides were as follows and ruined the stay to be honest: Check in was appalling. The self serve screens were all out of order or they hadn't been switched on to use. There was one member of staff at the front desk (although a further 2x were hovering around but not checking anyone in also and maybe as there was only one screen at the desk I am not sure). There weren't that many guests checking in (maybe 4x) but we were stood queuing for around 15 minutes in the stark and soulless reception area. The net curtain was too small so when I tried to pull across the window as my room was on the ground floor it fell down as it was affixed with an extendable pole. In the morning I had a member of cleaning staff open my door at around 0800 and again knocking at 0900. So it wasn't even near to check out time and ruined any chance of relaxing as the interruption put me on edge despite my then locking the room door. The toilet tissue is packed into a dispenser which when pulling out leaves shreds all in the bathroom. Rolls are much better as quicker and easier to use. There isn't a towel rail in the bathroom which I've never not had when staying away in accommodation before. Breakfast is served across from the hotel in a separate building but charged at around £10 I understand, I had a lovely breakfast at Wetherspoons at The Quays instead for half the price. I would usually stay in a Premier Inn due to the cost but on this occasion I doubt I'd want to stay at this location again as the check in experience and disruption in the morning didn't make it worthwhile overall as these aspects aren't difficult to get right and they've also cheaped out a little too much overall with the net pole etc.

Very clean and tidy hotel- gives a modern new style. Loved the self check and easy registration process for my car- plenty of parking too! Great location close to the quays- I was visiting for university purposes. Would definitely stay again.

The usual great Premier Inn stay. Rooms clean and tidy, a great night's sleep in the comfortable bed as ever. This is a great location for The Quays which is a nice place to wander around or sit and people watch, it also has a number of very popular looking restaurants. Pre-booked breakfast was across the car park from the hotel but was very nice. Special thanks are due to Logan who was working front of house in the restaurant today and despite it being very busy she worked tirelessly to keep everything topped up and the tables clear and clean, she is a real asset to the business and very patient.

The hotel is well located and convenient for the M5. I stayed for business. The room was modern clean and there was enough parking. It's located within a retail park. Evrything was as I'd expect from a Premier Inn expect when I arrived the reception said I had to book a time for breakfast and was offred 6:30am or 9am! I said that didn't work as it was too early or too late. In the end she said she couldn't change the 'spreadsheet' but go when I wanted to. I turned up at 7:30 and there was ONE other person in the restaurant. It's a bizarre system and I don't know if it's premier Inn's policy but it would put me off staying i9n one in the future if there wasn't flexibilty on the times to eat breakfast. Apart from this I was very happy with the hotel and would have rated 5 stars apart from this.
